This minimally invasive injectable reduces facial aging signs by relaxing targeted muscles. Botox binds to nerve endings, preventing muscle contractions, which results in a smoother and more youthful look.

Botox can slim your face by reducing muscle activity. It targets specific muscles responsible for a bulky jawline, creating a more contoured facial appearance.

Botox or Dysport - Pre and Post Care

Botox® and Dysport® soften wrinkles by temporarily reducing contractions of the underlying muscles of the face. Botox® and Dysport® are simple treatments that deliver superior cosmetic outcomes with almost no side effects or downtime.

  • Avoid Aspirin or Anti-inflammatory medication – Generally, it’s best to avoid over-the-counter painkillers. Tylenol is fine. These can increase the chance of bruising or swelling from the injection.
  • Avoid Alcohol – At least for 2 to 3 days before the procedure, it’s best to avoid alcohol. It can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.
  • Skip Makeup – Generally, we suggest you avoid applying makeup in the area of the injection. The plastic surgeon cleans the area with an antiseptic or rubbing alcohol, which wipes off any makeup in the area.
  • Stay Calm – Although it’s a safe procedure, people are sometimes nervous about anything involving needles. It’s okay, this is common. But it’s best to stay calm for your treatment.
  • Your provider will consult with you about your desired goals and assess your needs. They will then mark up your areas for a better idea of where units will be injected.
  • Your provider will then inject Botox® or Dysport® into the treated areas.
  • No manipulation (touching) of the treatment site for 3 to 4 hours after receiving a Botox® or Dysport® treatment. This includes eyebrow waxing, facials, massages, and wearing tight hats or sunglasses. Do not lay down for 4 to 6 hours after Botox®/ Dysport®.
  • Do not perform any strenuous exercise or activity for 4 to 6 hours after your treatment.
  • Severe side effects and/or long-lasting discomfort post-treatment are very rare. In the unlikely event that you experience excessive pain, have difficulty breathing, speaking, vision problems, or generalized weakness, immediately contact your provider.
  • Noticeable results are typically seen within 5 to 7 days and full correction within 14 days.
  • The benefits of a Botox®/Dysport® treatment will last anywhere from 3 to 4 months.

If you do not experience the desired result after 7 to 10 days, contact your Sculptology  provider.

Still not sure? We got you...

Botox involves injecting a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin into the muscles to temporarily paralyze them. It is commonly used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging by blocking the nerve signals that cause muscle contractions.

While both Botox and fillers are used to reduce wrinkles, Botox relaxes the muscles responsible for causing wrinkles, while fillers add volume to areas that have lost volume due to aging.

Botox is typically injected into the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and around the mouth to treat wrinkles in those areas.

Yes, Botox is generally safe when administered by a qualified professional using FDA-approved products. Avoid Botox / Dysport  if pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to botulinum toxin, or have a neuromuscular disorder.

Initial results can be seen within a couple of days, but it can take 1-2 weeks to see the full effects.

The results typically last 3-5 months, after which the body metabolizes the Botox and muscle movement gradually returns to the treatment area.

    1. The most common side effects are bruising, swelling, or temporary muscle weakness at the injection site. Other rare side effects include headache, flu-like symptoms, eye irritation, and drooping of eyelids or brows.
